Sunglasses and festivals

I am extremely excited about Glastonbury. This year I managed to get a ticket with my boyfriend, I think the main reason was having good internet this time. I’ve been three times before, twice it rained a lot and the other time the temperature was at a record high! I was there the year the whole place got flooded, it was still awesome though.

I took these pictures the other day. The sunglasses are from Topshop, I love them so much! I really like the 60’s style and the colour is luscious. I thought I’d clash the colours a bit with a bright blue nail polish (Chanel Bel-Argus, £1.50 from a charity shop!) and a red lipstick from Topshop.

Summer’s nearly here!

Garden party for two

Music, My photography

I have acquired a fan and some cooling spray since the last post which means I no longer feel on the verge of passing out from the heat!

The other day I got my hair cut (finally)! I don’t miss having long hair yet, but I know I’ll start to get jealous of people with longer locks than me soon. It’s just inevitable, even though I love my shorter much more easier to manage style. Having long hair is fun because you can do so much with it, but mine was so damaged I had to get rid of it. I dye my hair blonde when I can and the ends weren’t taking to the dye anymore. Next on the to do list is dying my hair the colour I actually want it! My hairdresser offered to do this for me next time I come in. To give you an idea of the colour, here’s a pic of Marina and the Diamonds with more or less what I want.

Hopefully soon!

Yesterday me and my friend Alice had a budget night in, drinking left over beers in the garden and watching Deep blue sea (such an underrated movie!?!?) on the telly.

Tiger dresses and fashion lusting

Fashion, Fashion photography, My photography

As I write this I am hungry. What shall I eat? I’m trying to cut down on cheese, as I do tend to put it in everything, although I could do worse. Apparently dairy can make you more intelligent, because it has Iodine in it. So that’s good I suppose. I’ll hold on to that fact.

At the moment I’m looking for a full time job, and there doesn’t seem to be any that provide more than an 8 or 16 hour contract a week. Either that or they’re all temporary! Frustration.

Putting the dairy and job stuff aside, here’s some fashion for you! This is one of my favourite dresses from Romwe and my all time favourite shoes from Underground.

The lip stick is from Topshop and the shade is called ‘Arcade’.

I have been lusting after some rings from www.emptycasket.com. Empty casket (if you don’t already know) is an online jewellery store, everything is hand made with a ‘grungey vibe’. Here are some of my favourites….

Rings £18

Necklace £10

Kitty ring £5

Things I’ve been listening to and looking at

Fashion, Fashion photography, Music

At the moment I’m having a bit of a mental/inspirational blockage with my FMP. I’m sort of in between sorting it all out and desperately trying to find things that inspire me and give me idea’s.

Marcus Ohlsson, a fashion and beauty photographer from Sweden has caught my eye recently. I buy Elle every month, I think they have some of the best editorials, and this month I noticed he had photographed quite a few of them. A lot of his stuff is photographed quite close up which I love, and you can tell he focuses a lot on shape. Here are some of my favourite photographs of his…

I have been so excited about all the new amazing bands at the moment. Over the last few years, I’ve been a bit bored by modern day band music, but recently there has been a surge of new and interesting music.

PeacePeace are from Birmingham, they are indie…. not that there is anything wrong with indie, because its probably what I listen to most but I say indie with caution.  This is because a lot of recent indie music has been kind of crap (in my personal opinion). Peace are really REALLY good though, their debut album is out in just under a week I think, and it’s meant to be amazing. Listen to their cover of  ‘1998’ originally by Binary Finary, that track isn’t going to be on the debut (http://www.nme.com/news/peace/69258). It was on some horse racing advert for channel 4.

SPLASHH1

Splashh are from all over, Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Listen to ‘All I wanna do’, I am so addicted to this song.

If you haven’t heard of these bands you should definitely give them a listen, they have restored my faith in music! I can’t talk about music anymore because I will go on and on and I don’t want to force all my favorite bands upon you. Hope you found this post interesting, useful, inspiring or just OK.

Gothic style

I love the Goth trend.

Bag by ‘Our lord and saviour’

This winter, the gothic trend is coming back in a big way. So many designers have references to gothic style in there collections, and I’m sure you’ve noticed that crosses are really big at the moment anyway. Tumblr is teaming with Goth/fashion photo’s, it’s probably one of the most universally popular trends of this year. What’s great about it is, there are so many ways you can wear it without looking like everyone else! Here are some different types of goth style for you…

Awesome jewellery, over accessorising is THE way to do it

Sheer fabrics look beautiful, especially in black!

Givenchy fall 2012 – Vampy!

Valentino fall 2012 – lace is the best

Black lipstick/dark shades – not for everyone but on the right person it looks truly awesome.

Emma Stone with some deep red lipstick on combined with this Gucci dress is the perfect Gothic trend example.

That’s just a brief over view of the trend but there is so much more. I’ve made a VERY quick mood board of the trend as well just to show it off a bit more… thanks for reading!

Hello, i’m so sorry I haven’t posted in so long! iv’e been extremely busy with my new job and my uni work. Speaking of which I thought I would post some of my page designs for my project!

As some of you may know I have been planning a photo shoot based on the fashion trend print. I finally got round to doing it a few days ago and am now working on the editing. Here are some potential page designs… please let me know what you think!

I did the shoot in my house because it was raining, even though I planned to do it outside… but it turned out quite well considering. All the flower photographs were taken in my back garden.
