Last Thursday I went to The Fleece again to shoot Pete Doherty at one of his intimate gigs before The Libertines reunion in Hyde Park. This was a great opportunity for me, and kind of insane considering how obsessed me and my friend Alice were with him back in the day. I just googled when ‘The Libertines’ the album came out and it was bloody 2004! Wow ten years ago. That was such a great time, I love that album. When Pete moved on to Babyshambles I went to see him at Bristol academy as well as Glastonbury in 2005, and although he always turned up late I still remember those gigs as being great fun. There was one point when me and Alice were walking through the mud at Glastonbury and we saw Pete D and Kate Moss walking towards us. I remember whispering to Alice and hiding my face behind my paper cider pint trying not to scream (we were 15 at the time). That was around the time I became really interested in live music photography and started following photography blogs.
The gig on Thursday had so much energy and the crowd really really enjoyed it despite him being late on. Pete was on stage with a girl on the violin, who was super talented, whilst he had his acoustic guitar. The gig reminded me how good a song writer he is, playing all the best Libertines and Babyshambles songs. He was really funny as well and even sang somebody in the crowd happy birthday!
Hope you like them! Always looking for new bands to photograph, so if you want to get in contact email me email@example.com
Last weekend was Glastonbury which was absolutely awesome! I really really enjoyed it. The best performance for me was London Grammar, which were on at the same time as Kasabian who I know a lot of people said were amazing as well. London Grammar were so perfect though, Hannah Reid has the most amazing voice and they had a live orchestra playing with them! At the end of the set the bloke closing the John Peel stage said “Wow, I think that’s probably one of the best closes we’ve had on the John Peel Stage”. I really wanted to cry whilst watching them but I didn’t let myself, I hate crying in public (nobody loves it I guess). If you go to see one band before you die, go and see London Grammar!
Other high lights include Metallica, Jack White, Courtney Barnett, Robert Plant and Annie Mae’s macaroni cheese stall!!!! Oh wow. I had macaroni with jalapeno’s and sour cream and it was just the best thing ever. The food at Glastonbury is so good, especially as a vegetarian, they have so much choice. Being there for 6 days I still didn’t get the chance to eat everything I wanted to.

I didn’t take a lot of pictures because I was so caught up in the fun! I wish I had taken more. Until next time!
A couple of weeks ago I went to see Nine Black Alps at The Fleece in Bristol. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen them, having seen them at Reading Festival a number of years ago. They’re another favourite from my teenage years, and I’m loving their new album Candy For Clowns! This gig was awesome to photograph, great energy which I hope comes off in the pictures, here’s a few of my favourites –
Love this track off the new album! –
Next week I’m going to Dot To Dot festival in Bristol! I’m really hoping for this heat wave to begin that weekend…
Thanks for reading as always!
I guess as you get older time really does go faster. Every week seems to go by like a day used to go by when I was a child. When I was younger days would last forever, like Christmas eve, the day before your birthday or those days you had nothing to do and it was raining outside. Now a day is like an hour, and a week a day, a month a week… so on. Am I the only one feeling this? Time seems to be so fast, say you remember going out with your friends a few days ago but then your like…. NO that was like two weeks ago????? I wished my time away when I was at school, I literally couldn’t wait for it to end, but now I feel like I never want my twenties to end. Not necessarily because I’m having such an awesome time (it has its moments) just because I know I’m going to miss it when it’s gone. However, I wouldn’t say I miss school… at all.
Highlights of my instagram from the last month or so…
I like Instagram because I love taking photo’s and looking back at them. It’s a never ending photo album, a public one obviously. I do often think what will it be like when we’re older and we show our photos to friends and family… and they’re all on facebook? I do have physical photo albums but I haven’t updated them in years. I miss having ‘physical’ photographs and being able to display them nicely. Sure you can print them out, but it is a bit of a hassle and people just don’t really do it do they? Or maybe they do and I should do it more.
Here are some photographs I took in Church Stretton in the West Midlands…

Oh dear, I’ve very much neglected this blog over the past couple of months. A lot’s been happening!
I’m really looking forward to getting back into blogging regularly and I’ve got lots to update the blog with. Recently I’ve been settling into my new job and adjusting to lots of small changes around me. I think now that uni’s over, things are changing for the better, slowly but surely…
Here’s a quick photo diary of what’s been going on during the last few months…
Meerkats at Bristol Zoo! This was on a really cold day.
Sneaking one in there of my cat…
Photographed The Vigil at Bristol’s Bierkeller. Great gig!
Here’s a shot for a new label we do at 71 Queens called Believe.
Another shot for a promotional shoot for Believe
Next month I’m going to see The Wytches, Drenge, Eagulls and Parquet Courts! I might even get to photograph some of them. Here’s some good ones from some of these guys…
There is an official video for The Eagulls but it doesn’t seem to be working.
I’ll be writing more in my next post, just thought I would do a quick round up seeing as I haven’t posted in a while! More fashion based posts to come 🙂
It’s been a while since I’ve updated, due to the fact I did manage to land myself a full time job! I work for 71 Queens, a clothes shop based in Bath and Bristol, and I do the marketing/social media/website maintenance for them at the moment. I’m so happy to be employed and doing something I really enjoy! Check out the website at www.71queens.com
I love Autumn, I love the colours, the fashion and I do like the weather unless its rainy and grey. But lets face it you can get that all year round, we live in the UK! It’s the crispy, sunny days when all the leaves are yellow and red that I like. Today I went up to Leigh Woods in Bristol for a walk around. I’m afraid I’ve got to the age where if I go out for a few drinks on Friday, I’ll probably still be feeling a bit rough on the Sunday as well as the Saturday, so fresh air seemed a good idea. That makes me sound really old…

I am on the look out for the perfect Winter coat at the moment, and I keep changing my mind on the kind of thing I want. Do I want a suede coat with sheepskin, or a smart boxy one… or a soft fluffy one? For now I’ve got a pleather jacket, but it’s getting colder and colder, and that won’t keep me warm when I’m on my way to work for long.
At the moment I’m listening to King Tuff, Drenge and Disclosure. I’m really late getting on the Disclosure bandwagon, I didn’t like that Latch song at first but they’ve grown on me so much. Here’s some tunes.
Ok I love sunshine and the fact it’s not raining. It’s really hot though… and I don’t have a fan. I promise I’m not moaning about the weather though.
I’ve been doing a lot of walking in this heat, not having a job or being able to drive does that to you. The other day when I was visiting my boyfriend in Shrewsbury he took me up what he said was a hill. Having joked that we were going rock climbing that should have prepared me for something a bit… steeper. It was basically more of a cliff. Probably the most exercise I’ve done in a few years, I should probably do something about that.
Bristol seems to be one of the hottest places going at the moment.
Apparently it’s even getting hotter as well. Hopefully I’ll find a way of investing in a fan…
Hello again. I am so jealous of everyone going to Glastonbury! I could not stop setting myself up for disappointment this year where Glastonbury tickets were concerned. Firstly I tried to get one when they first went on sale, ignoring the fact our internet connection in Southampton was the slowest ever. I didn’t get a ticket. That was bad enough, but then I decided I was going to give it a shot at the resale. That might have been fine but I quickly realised I couldn’t afford it and sort of half tried to get one, knowing that if I did I would be EXTREMELY poor. I didn’t get one again… which I was sort of glad about. After that I entered a couple of competitions…. it didn’t happen.
I’ve just spent the last of those Topshop vouchers finally 🙂
Earring’s from Topshop sale!
Lipstick from Topshop in Rockabilly
Nail varnish Hed Kandi Ibiza mix from Models Own.
I’ve just moved out properly from my house in Southampton. This means I have a ton of crap that I don’t know whether I want or not lying around my room. Still, it’s looking a lot better than it did after I had a little revamp.
… and here’s my cat looking cute
